Waterlilies in the sunThe following treatments have been suggested as useful by our members for tackling autoimmune hepatitis, as well as other related conditions. If you have a good resource related to any of these, or wish to suggest a new avenue - or to merely make a comment - please use the form below.

It may be helpful to work through the list in conjunction with a health professional, and see which of these work for your unique situation.

Treatments include:

  1. Immune Repressing Drugs, such as methatrixate, azothiaprine, prednicilone and other steroids
  2. Yoga, to calm and center the immune system
  3. Meditation, both to calm the mind and also to pro-actively promote healing
  4. Regular stillness
  5. Prayer
  6. Chinese herbal medicine
  7. Acupuncture
  8. Daily or equivalent weekly exercise
  9. Lifestyle changes for stress management
  10. Regular sleeping patterns
  11. Investigation for Celiac disease. “In some cases, early detection and treatment of celiac disease may prevent progression to end-stage liver failure.”
  12. A regular and healthy diet, including a gluten free diet (see above). An article relating to protein and carbohydrates to come.
  13. Therapy to alleviate childhood issues
  14. Antidepressants such as Sertraline
  15. Ayervedic diet, temperature treatments, and other treatments to reduce metabolism
  16. Treatments for Obsessive Personality Disorders
  17. Recreation and holidays, rest
  18. Lowering overly high self criticism, procrastination, and perfectionalism
  19. Spending more time with nature, animals, and children
  20. Monitoring by a trained health professional
  21. Personal goal setting and success relative to your own criteria
